BOLOGNA VIOLENTA è un progetto nato nel 2005 da un’idea di Nicola Manzan, musicista trevigiano che da allora ha pubblicato sotto questo pseudonimo sei album, vari ep, split e remix.
La proposta musicale è sempre stata caratterizzata da sonorità estreme e da composizioni molto brevi eseguite con chitarra elettrica, archi e batteria elettronica, ma negli anni ha subito una forte evoluzione fino ad arrivare all’Ep Cortina in cui le chitarre sono state sostituite dal violino.
Il nuovo album intitolato Bancarotta Morale è un ulteriore passo avanti nella ricerca di sonorità e non usuali ed è la conseguenza naturale di quanto pubblicato fino ad oggi.
Le tematiche affrontate sono per lo più riferite ai drammi della vita, al forte contrasto tra l’essere umano e il mondo che lo circonda, ma soprattutto al difficile rapporto tra gli esseri umani stessi.
Nel 2015 il progetto è diventato un duo con l’ingresso in formazione di Alessandro Vagnoni
come batterista dal vivo e polistrumentista in studio.
BOLOGNA VIOLENTA è stato materia d’esame nel corso di Arte digitale all’Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia e presso la stessa sede è stato anche presentato il progetto The Sound of…, in cui i pezzi di quaranta discografie diverse vengono fatti suonare simultaneamente.
Nel 2019 è uscito il documentario Uno Bianca – Mirare allo Stato in cui la colonna sonora è composta da brani tratti dai dischi pubblicati tra il 2010 e il 2016.
Nicola Manzan è un violinista, polistrumentista e produttore trevigiano.
Ha lavorato in studio e dal vivo con artisti italiani ed internazionali, tra cui Baustelle, Ligabue, Lo Stato Sociale, Fast Animals and Slow Kids, Il Teatro degli Orrori, MezzoSangue, Ronin e molti altri.
Alessandro Vagnoni è un batterista, polistrumentista e produttore fermano. Ha collaborato in passato con band death metal quali Infernal Poetry, Dark Lunacy, Resurrecturis ed altri progetti. È inoltre batterista della band Ronin, chitarrista e compositore del progetto Bushi, polistrumentista nella one-man-band Drovag e attivo come turnista live e tecnico del suono.

BOLOGNA VIOLENTA is a project born in 2005 from an idea of Nicola Manzan, a musician from Treviso who has since released six albums under this pseudonym, as well as various ep’s, split albums and remixes. His music has always been characterized by extreme sounds and very short compositions performed with electric guitar, strings and electronic drums, evolving over the years and gradually replacing the guitars with the sole violin.
The new album, entitled Bancarotta Morale, is a further step forward in the search for unusual sounds and it is the natural evolution of what has been released to date.
The issues addressed are mostly related to the dramas of life, the strong contrast between the human being and the world around him, and above all, the difficult relationship between human beings themselves. In 2015 the project became a duo with the joining of Alessandro Vagnoni as a live drummer and multi-instrumentalist in the recording studio duties.
BOLOGNA VIOLENTA has been the subject matter for examination in the Digital Art course at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice and the project The Sound of… (in which the tracks of forty different discographies are played simultaneously) was also presented at the same venue.
The documentary Uno Bianca – Mirare allo Stato has been released in 2019 and the soundtrack includes songs from the albums published between 2010 and 2016.
Nicola Manzan is a violinist, multi-instrumentalist and producer from Treviso, Italy. He has worked in studio and performed live with Italian and international artists, including Baustelle, Ligabue, Lo Stato Sociale, Fast Animals and Slow Kids, Il Teatro degli Orrori, MezzoSangue, Ronin and many others.
Alessandro Vagnoni is a drummer, multi-instrumentalist and producer from Fermo, Italy. He has collaborated in the past with death metal bands such as Infernal Poetry, Dark Lunacy, Resurrecturis and other projects. He is also drummer of the band Ronin, guitarist and composer for Bushi, multi-instrumentalist in his one-man-band Drovag and active as a session drummer and sound engineer.
